What this blade is for

These Morse reciprocating saw blades come in a 5 pack and are 305mm (12″) long, 20mm (3/4″) wide and 0.9mm thick, with 14 teeth per inch. They are listed for cutting metal.

The 14 TPI pitch, with teeth about 1.8mm apart, is a middle-ground choice for metal. It suits pipe, angle, channel, rod and medium-thickness sections, giving a reasonable cutting speed without the snagging you would get from a coarse wood blade.

The extra 305mm length is the reason to choose this blade: it reaches through larger-diameter pipe, gets behind radiators and fixtures, and lets you cut from a safer distance during strip-out work. The thin 0.9mm body flexes enough to trim pipes and fixings close to a wall, but long, thin blades can bend if forced, so keep a steady feed.

Use a slower stroke speed on steel and support the work to keep vibration down.

How to check this is the right blade

Measure the old blade end to end: it should be 305mm (12″). Check it is 20mm wide and roughly 0.9mm thick, then count 14 teeth along one inch. Our how blades are measured and which TPI do I need guides explain how pitch relates to the thickness you cut.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a 305mm blade?

Only if you need the reach. A shorter blade is stiffer and easier to control, so choose the shortest one that passes fully through your work.

Will 14 TPI cut thin sheet?

It can, but on very thin sheet and tube a finer pitch such as 18 TPI keeps more teeth in contact and gives a cleaner cut.
