What this blade is for

This 5 pack of Morse reciprocating saw blades is the fine-tooth metal option in our 203mm (8″) range. Each blade is 20mm wide and 0.9mm thick with 18 teeth per inch, and is listed for metal.

With teeth only about 1.4mm apart, an 18 TPI blade keeps more teeth in contact on thin material. That makes it the better choice for thin-wall tube, conduit, sheet metal, trunking and light section, where a coarser blade would catch and chatter. On thick solid bar the small gullets fill quickly, so a 14 TPI blade will cut faster there.

The 203mm length is long enough to reach across most pipes and profiles, and the 0.9mm body flexes slightly for flush cutting without the bulk of a heavy-duty blade.

How to check this is the right blade

Measure your current blade end to end for the 203mm length, check the 20mm width, and count the teeth along one inch: an 18 TPI blade has 18 small, evenly spaced teeth. The general ideas are explained in our how blades are measured and which TPI do I need guides.

Frequently asked questions

Is 18 TPI or 14 TPI better for metal?

18 TPI is better for thin material such as sheet and thin-wall tube. 14 TPI is better for thicker walls and sections, where its larger gullets clear swarf faster.

Can I cut wood with an 18 TPI blade?

This blade is listed for metal. In wood the fine teeth clog and cut slowly, so use a 6 TPI wood or a wood/metal blade instead.
