What this blade is for
This 5 pack of Morse reciprocating saw blades is the shortest wood-cutting size we list: 152mm (6″) long, 20mm wide and 1.3mm thick, with a coarse 6 TPI tooth pattern. It is made for cutting wood quickly rather than finely.
At 6 teeth per inch the tooth pitch is just over 4mm, so each tooth takes a big bite and the deep gullets clear sawdust well. That makes it a good choice for sawing through joists, battens, fence posts, pallets and branches. The trade-off is a rougher finish, so it is not the blade for neat joinery cuts or thin sheet material.
The short 152mm length keeps the blade tip close to the saw, which gives good control in tight spaces such as between studs or under floors. The thicker 1.3mm body resists bending and wobble when you lean on the saw, helping to keep the cut straight.
How to check this is the right blade
Measure your old blade from end to end to confirm the 152mm length, check the width across the blade, and count the teeth along one inch (25.4mm): you should find 6. The same measuring principles are explained in our guides on how blades are measured and which TPI do I need. Remember that some of the length sits in the saw’s clamp, so the usable cutting depth is shorter than 152mm.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this 6 TPI blade on metal?
No. This blade is listed for wood. The coarse teeth would snag and chip on metal; choose a 14 or 18 TPI metal blade from our reciprocating saw blade range instead.
Is a 152mm blade long enough for thick timber?
It suits most battens, joists and branches, but for thicker posts or deeper cuts a longer blade such as a 229mm wood blade gives more reach.
