About this 152mm 6 TPI wood blade

This pack of five 152mm (6″) reciprocating saw blades for wood combines a standard 20mm width with a thin, flexible 0.9mm body and coarse 6 TPI teeth. It is built for speed in timber rather than a fine finish.

Where the thin 0.9mm body helps

A thinner blade flexes, which is useful when you want to cut close to a surface – trimming dowels, posts or protruding timber almost flush. It also takes a slightly narrower cut, so it works a little less hard. Common jobs include:

  • General timber cutting – joists, battens and offcuts during building work.
  • Garden work – pruning branches and cutting back roots.
  • Flush trimming – cutting off pegs, posts and timber ends close to a face.

If you need a blade that stays straighter through deep or heavy cuts, the 1.3mm thick wood blade is stiffer. For curves, the 12mm narrow wood blade turns more easily.

How to check this is the right blade

Measure your old blade: it should be 152mm long and 20mm wide. A 6 TPI blade has about six tooth tips in every 25.4mm, which is easy to count. Our wood and soft materials TPI chart and guide on which TPI do I need help you choose the right pitch for your timber.

Frequently asked questions

Will a coarse 6 TPI blade splinter the wood?

It leaves a rougher edge than a fine blade. If appearance matters, cut slightly oversize and finish with a plane or sander.

Can I cut timber with nails in it?

This is a wood blade; hitting metal can damage the teeth. For timber that may contain fixings, choose one of our 10/14 TPI hybrid blades.
