About this 152mm 1.3mm 5/8 TPI wood blade
Five 152mm (6″) reciprocating saw blades for wood, each 20mm wide with a stiff 1.3mm body and a 5/8 TPI variable tooth pattern. The very coarse teeth remove timber quickly, while the thicker blade keeps the cut straight in heavier material.
Why a 5/8 variable pitch for timber?
The teeth vary between roughly 5 and 8 per inch. The large teeth do the fast cutting and the deep gullets carry sawdust out of the kerf, while the change in spacing helps the blade run more smoothly than a single coarse pitch. It is well suited to:
- Heavy timber and sleepers – thick sections where a thin blade might wander.
- Rough carpentry – cutting joists, rafters and posts to length on site.
- Tree and garden work – thicker branches and roots.
Because the blade is thick and coarse, it is not the choice for fine finishing or tight curves. For curves look at the 12mm narrow wood blade; for flush trimming the thinner 0.9mm wood blade flexes more.
How to check this is the right blade
Measure your blade at 152mm long and 20mm wide, and check its thickness (1.3mm) with callipers. Count teeth over a few inches to confirm the 5/8 range. See the wood and soft materials TPI chart and our guide on which TPI do I need for more help.
Frequently asked questions
Is this blade faster than a 6 TPI blade?
On thick timber, the coarse variable teeth generally clear waste well. On thinner boards the difference is small.
Can I use it on plastic or metal?
It is designed for wood. Choose a metal or hybrid blade for metal, and a finer pitch for plastics.
