About these 10 TPI wood and metal blades

This 5 pack of Morse reciprocating saw blades is 305mm (12″) long, 25mm (1″) wide and 1.3mm thick, with 10 teeth per inch. They are listed for cutting both wood and metal.

A 10 TPI pitch sits between a coarse wood blade and a fine metal blade. The teeth are about 2.5mm apart, coarse enough to keep moving through timber and fine enough to cope with embedded nails, screws and bolts. That makes these blades well suited to demolition, renovation and strip-out work: cutting through stud walls, window frames, joists with fixings in them and mixed materials.

The 305mm length reaches through thick sections, while the wide 25mm, 1.3mm body resists bending and twisting under heavy use. For clean, fast cuts in thin metal only, a dedicated fine-pitch metal blade is the better choice.

How to check this is the right blade

Check your old blade is 305mm long and 25mm wide, and measure the thickness with a caliper (1.3mm). Count the teeth over one inch – there should be 10. For tips on measuring blades and choosing a pitch, see how are bandsaw blades measured and which TPI do I need.

Frequently asked questions

Can a 10 TPI blade cut through nails?

Yes, that is what this type of blade is designed for. Expect the cut to slow as it passes through the nail, and avoid twisting the blade.

Is this blade good for plastic pipe?

It will cut plastic pipe, though the finish may be rougher than with a finer blade. Use a steady feed and a moderate speed to avoid melting the plastic.
