What this blade is for

This 5 pack contains Morse reciprocating saw blades measuring 305mm (12″) long, 20mm (3/4″) wide and 0.9mm thick, with a 10 TPI tooth pitch. They are listed for wood and metal.

A 10 TPI pitch is a sensible all-rounder when the job mixes materials. It cuts reclaimed timber, floorboards and pallet wood while tolerating the nails, screws and staples you often find in them, and it will also tackle light metal such as brackets and thin fixings.

The long 305mm blade is useful for cutting through large timbers in one pass, reaching between joists or cutting from a comfortable position. Because the 0.9mm body is relatively thin, it can flex to cut nails flush between two boards or close to a surface. For long straight cuts in heavy timber, a stiffer 1.3mm blade will track more accurately.

How to check this is the right blade

Check that your current blade measures 305mm overall and 20mm wide, and that a caliper reads about 0.9mm on the body. Count the teeth along one inch of the edge: there should be 10. Our how blades are measured and which TPI do I need guides go into more detail.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a good blade for breaking up pallets?

Yes. Running the blade between the boards and the bearers cuts through the nails, and the 10 TPI teeth handle both the timber and the fixings.

Why does a long blade vibrate more?

The further the blade reaches beyond the saw's shoe, the more it can flex. Keep the shoe pressed against the work and use a steady stroke speed for better control.
