About this 152mm 1.3mm 14 TPI metal blade

This pack contains five 152mm (6″) metal-cutting reciprocating saw blades with a 20mm width, a heavy-duty 1.3mm body and a 14 TPI pitch. Pairing a coarse metal pitch with a thicker blade makes this the most robust option in our metal range for heavy sections.

What it is built for

  • Thick-wall pipe and box section – where a thinner blade would bow under feed pressure.
  • Solid bar, angle and channel – steady, straight cuts through heavier stock.
  • Cutting out old metalwork – brackets, frames and supports during dismantling.

The 1.3mm thickness resists bending, so the cut stays straighter and the blade is less likely to kink if the saw is pushed. The 14 TPI teeth take a substantial bite and clear swarf freely. For medium-gauge tube choose 18 TPI, and for thin sheet 24 TPI.

Practical tips

Clamp the work securely, keep the saw shoe against it and use cutting fluid on steel to reduce heat. Start slowly, then build up speed once the cut is established. Let the blade cool if it starts to discolour.

How to check this is the right blade

Confirm your existing blade is 152mm long, 20mm wide and 1.3mm thick, then count the teeth over 25.4mm to check for 14 TPI. Our metals TPI chart and guide on which TPI do I need explain the three-teeth rule.

Frequently asked questions

0.9mm or 1.3mm for metal?

Choose 0.9mm when you need flexibility for flush cutting; choose 1.3mm for heavy sections and straighter cuts under pressure.

Can this blade cut thin sheet?

It is too coarse for thin sheet. Use a fine 24 TPI blade instead.
