Order a custom size bandsaw blade
Carbon bandsaw blades are essential tools in various industries due to their precision and efficiency in cutting different materials such as timber, metal, and plastic. This blade is expertly crafted from high-carbon steel, renowned for its durability, toughness, and edge retention. Its composition primarily comprises carbon steel, providing advantages such as resistance to wear and heat build-up, ensuring prolonged sharpness and consistent performance even in demanding conditions.
About this 2745mm 4.8mm 18 TPI carbon blade
This is a carbon bandsaw blade, 2745mm long and 4.8mm (3/16″) wide, with 18 teeth per inch, aimed at clean, controlled cuts in thinner stock.
At 18 TPI the teeth are about 1.4mm apart, keeping three teeth engaged in material from roughly 4mm thick. It is well suited to thin plywood, acrylic and other plastics, and soft non-ferrous sheet and thin extrusions, giving a fine finish with less breakout.
A 3/16″ band follows tighter curves than wider blades, so you can cut shapes and patterns rather than only straight lines. The 2745mm length is for floor-standing bandsaws built for this band - always check the size on your machine.
Carbon steel makes this an economical option for wood, plastics and soft metals.
How to check this is the right blade
Confirm three measurements before ordering: 2745mm length, 4.8mm width across the band, and 18 teeth counted over one inch. Our guides how are bandsaw blades measured and which TPI do I need explain how.
Can an 18 TPI carbon blade cut aluminium?
Yes, thin aluminium sheet and sections are within the range of a carbon blade. Keep the feed light and the blade clean of build-up.
Will the narrow blade follow intricate patterns?
A 4.8mm blade handles tighter curves than a 6.3mm blade. For the very tightest scroll work, a 3mm blade is the next step down.
